A DM (Demineralized) water plant is designed to produce highly purified water by removing mineral salts and impurities. Here's a brief overview of its process:

1. Raw Water Intake: Water is sourced from natural bodies like rivers or wells.
2. Pretreatment: Suspended solids and organic matter are removed through sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.
3. Ion Exchange: This is the core process where ion exchange resins remove dissolved ions like calcium and magnesium.
4. Regeneration: Resins are rejuvenated using chemicals to maintain their efficiency.
5. Mixed Bed Ion Exchange: For ultra-pure water, cation and anion resins are mixed for higher purity.
6. Polishing: Additional treatments like reverse osmosis may be used for further purification.
7. Storage and Distribution: The purified water is stored and distributed for industrial use.

DM water is essential in industries like pharmaceuticals, electronics, and power generation.
